About Gemma

When I was a kid, I was a gymnast and a dancer. However, at the age of 14, I had a terrible injury. While pulling out of a backflip, I landed on the back of my head and injured my neck and back. I had to wear a neck brace, and my mobility was severely reduced. The consequence of this injury was to haunt me for many years to come.

In 2004 a personal trainer friend of mine introduced me to yoga as a means to heal and recuperate my back.

The more I practiced yoga, the better I felt &, the more I fell in love with the practice. I became intrigued by the human body and the management of my injuries. To my amazement, my back slowly started to heal.

I progressed so much so that in 2011 I started teaching in my hometown, Sydney, Australia. I quickly gained popularity within my first year of teaching and was selected as an Ambassador for the yoga clothing company Lululemon Athletica.

In 2012, I pursued the study of Nutritional Medicine at Nature Care College, Sydney. The program incorporated a 2-year survey of anatomy study, which gave me a solid foundation.

I love a dynamic practice, and I enjoy playing with arm balances, handstands, and more! I also have a deep love for Yin Yoga and Meditation.

I studied more than 500hrs of Vinyasa Yoga with renowned teachers such as Baron Baptiste, the creator of Power Yoga, Chanel Luck, and Simon Park, both of whom are Shiva Rea senior teachers, as well as Nicole Walsh and Tiffany Cruikshank.

I have also completed 230hrs of Yin Yoga training with Bernie Clark, Melanie McLaughlin, Tiffany Cruikshank, and Paul Grilley, a pioneer of Yin Yoga. These trainings gave me a strong foundation and helped me add a unique modern flair to my teachings.

I have been privileged to practice with inspirational teachers, including Ana Forrest, the Forrest Yoga creator, Les Leventhal, Brian Kest, Sarah Powers, Tara Stiles & Kerri Verna, aka Beach Yoga Girl.

In 2016, I completed a ten-day Vipassana Meditation Experience that I incorporate into my daily practice and infuse into my meditation teachings.

The various health issues I've endured throughout my life, including my neck and back injury, as well as multiple abdominal surgeries, have led me towards a holistic lifestyle that incorporates a whole food organic diet. I am very passionate about whole foods.

In 2014, I decided to move to France to help my sister take care of her kids. I became established in Paris and taught at some of the most prominent yoga studios in Paris and Ile de France, including Naya Studio, Paris Yoga Shala, Caelo Yoga & Modo Yoga.

In 2017 I co-created Earth to Fly Yoga Skool in Paris & launched the 200hr Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training with partner Tatiana Avila Bouru and our amazing teaching team. This partnership ended beautifully at the end of 2020, and I continue to run trainings independently.

I am a certified Wellness Coach and have extensive experience teaching yoga in both corporate and private settings. I have worked with numerous corporations creating & implementing wellness programs for employees.

In 2016, I was featured on the cover of Esprit Yoga Magazine, and in 2018, I was featured twice on the cover of  Yoga Journal France. I have represented Lole Women & I am currently a proud Ambassador for Chin Mudra, France.

Today I conduct private and group classes, run Teacher Trainings and retreats, online and offline, in Paris and worldwide. I'm living my dream, empowering and inspiring individuals to take control of their health and wellness, one breath at a time.
